I understand. The treatment the PO does to the eggs makes people a bit leary to pay much for shipped eggs. When I am getting alot of eggs I ask less for them and when I'm not getting many or have to do a hens choice I charge a flat fee and include shipping.. The only reason I sell their eggs is to buy their feed. If I can't keep income coming in so I can buy feed I'll have to downsize again. I just traded over 100 quail for 150 lbs of feed because eggs where not selling and feed was running out. Back in the spring I had to sell many of my loved silkies due to eggs not selling. If I have to downsize much more I'll just have to sell them all and they help me stay sane. If I can sell at least $30 worth of eggs not counting the cost of shipping and packing supplies I can feed my chickens. I have 2 dozen eggs right now and 1 dozen will be getting trashed if they don't sell tomorrow. I have a BIN for 1 dozen on the Just in time thread, I have them for $30 including shipping. If I can sell both this week that will go towards chick feed and I have to hook up heat lamps so I can put chicks out in the grow pen so it will also help pay for the electric bill for their heat.

Chickens are my hobby since I can't work anymore. I would be in a bad mental state without a hobby to occupy my mind. So I try desperately to sell eggs here at BYC. Those Ebay people are nuts. Everytime I sell eggs there the buyers are scammers and it's always an ordeal. I have repeat customers here on BYC and have made friends here as well.
