Phage commonly posts auctions with Luvin. Refer to prior auctions from them ( Dottes, CCLs). Nothing nefarious.

Phage explained not long ago that she posts auctions for luvinbluechickens (sp?) because Phage has a Platinum Poultry membership and is therefore able to post more than one ad at a time, and that they partner on some projects. I don't have an opinion about that, just putting down what was said earlier. I bid a price I was willing to pay for what look like some pretty neat chickens. It's an auction. No one is obligated to bid. If you are in CA and want to buy, since Phage posted the auction I would PM Phage and ask why she doesn't want your bid. I know I'm taking up the thread that's supposed to be for auctions with a statement, but honestly I have checked back here 6 times tonight to try and find the latest bid and I can't because of the chatter. The condition created more controversy than bids.

Well..then it seems like the person handling the auction for them (Phage) would and did contact them about it. A response was posted thru Phage so as far as I am concerned, that was all I needed. I don't think any of us are being unreasonable in asking why.

I have no problem with that. Just not sure why asking "why" is ruffling feathers. As far as I am concerned Phage took care of it.

If a seller does not wish to sell to buyers within their state, that is their prerogative, as long as it is clearly stated in their auction. Buyers can PM the seller for special consideration.

ETA - You didn't have to delete it! It reminded me a wonderful woman that was a friends mom. Reminded me of silly and innocent days in my life!

Anywho... I have seen Phage post for Luvin many times and always wondered why. Is she banned from the BST? Just doesn't want to deal with her own sales posts? I would love to have some of her blue Marans eggs but there are so many things about the posts that put me off. Not selling in CA is weird - maybe she's trying to monopolize in the breeds she carries? Or, as stated, trying to keep her competition down at shows if she shows? She would have had, what, 3 extra people bidding on her eggs? I can't see why a simple question got some so upset - and the question had nothing to do with some of you. No offense, Phage. I am in no way saying I don't trust you. They are just questions I asked myself in the past couple months while looking at Luvin's gorgeous Marans.

If you were coming into this for the first time and you see someone posting sales for another person, you'd question it. And if they are restricting sales, I bet you'd wonder why, too. It was a simple query. No need to bring on heart attacks and strokes.

ETA: I was thinking of bidding myself until this. I believe I'll take it to PM and deal directly with Luvin.
