Robin, I don't usually like to post my kids names on a public forum. I did put her name on FB, but I have my settings so that only my friends and family can see them. I know that's not always a guarantee

Hi everybody!

I've been dragging my feet getting over here. Just couldn't pull myself away from the expectant thread. Anyway, I had my daughter (our first child) on August 27th at 11:30am and she was 6lb 15oz and 18 3/4" long.. An itty bitty thing!

We named her Carly Sharlene... Sharlene was my deceased mothers' middle name!

Here she is at birth..

One week old..

Two weeks old..

Three weeks old..

And yesterday at 1 month old.. She is awake more, and alot squirmier now. So this little closeup is the best I could do...

Hi.
Thought I'd join the thread early to meet everyone & get a sense of identity once our DS arrives.
We are due 11/5/11 with our first - so really he could come anytime in the next 2 months. Currently DH & I are tunning around trying to get everything in order for his arrival & trying to decide on a name. We didn't realize how hard a name would be! Anyone else had that problem?!
Anyway… hi, All. And thanks for letting me tag along in the thread unofficially.

My baby Girl had her one week birthday today!

I've not posted her name on here, because it's a public forum, but I had put it on facebook, so now I'm wondering what's the difference. So, I'll tell you we named her Peyton.

How long do most of you wait to see the pediatrician, once you actually get into the exam room? Carlys' appointment was at 2pm. Got into the exam room at 2:00 and the nurse checked her height and weight. She's gained a little over a pound and is an 1.5" taller..

Anyway, it was almost an hour before the doctor came to check her. I walked out of the building at 3:14..

This was our 3rd visit and it seems like each time, we wait a little longer. I don't know how many patients she may have had each time because there hasn't been anyone one in the waiting room on any visit we have had.

I find it ironic that the pre-admission forms I filled out plainly stated that if I am going to be more than 15 minutes late, that I need to call and cancel.. And if I am 15 minutes late 3 times, they kick us out and we aren't allowed to use them again..... Ok, I get that their time is precious, well, so is MINE!!!!! I have to miss work too! Maybe I should draw up a form that says I should be notifed beforehand if we are going to have to wait on her for more than 15 minutes and if we do, then she owes me for my time. Yes, I am still a tad hormonal from the pregnancy... But seriously, why can't we be afforded the same courtesies?

honestly, I agree with you. The last time we were at the pediatrician we weren't there much more than 30 minutes, but there was only 1 patient ahead of us that we know of, and they spent most of that 30 minutes trying to convince us to vaccinate.

But, there's been previous appointments when we've had to wait an hour - sometimes it's because they are over booked, sometimes it's because they are running behind, sometimes it's because they've had to work with a few unruly and uncooperative children, but then again, who likes to go to the dr when they are a kid??

Wow, I haven't been on here in a while....

Peyton and Carly are just beautiful little baby girls. Wow, Carly was a TINY thing... I can't imagine, my smallest was 8 lbs 8 oz and my biggest was 9 lbs 15 oz!!

Debi, whew, you're going to have your hands full with all those grandbabies being born so close together!!

Kelly, as much as I like the name Kyle I think Lane flows better with Wyatt.

Robin - that's why I changed it to Lane. My other name choices were Corbin and Colby, which both went well with Kyle, but when we decided on Wyatt I changed it to Lane.
