Birds of Paradise are remarkable growing in the garden. Until I lived in FL, I'd only seen them in flower arrangements and thought they were weird. Seeing masses of them in the garden are something else...very unusual and striking. (Trifids

Are those birds of paradise jobbies from South America? I've never seen them in the wild so i'm guessing that something so impressive must be from elsewhere.

I just did a quick look and they are said to be native to South Africa.

I think we can safely say that BertS is NOT a pretty face.......
 
Got a couple pictures before the rain starts today:

The Azalea's are blooming! We divided a huge over-grown mess of these in fall 2013 and they are finally starting to bloom, yay!



Duck HQ update. Other than some trimming and securing in a few spots, DH has the fencing up:
