The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I had Flat Coated Retrievers. Gorgeous dogs, smart, haven't had their brains bred out. RJ could be in the show ring on Friday, the obedience ring on Saturday, and hunt all day Sunday.

And the annoying kid who decided I was his one true love was Arvid. <shudder> (Gee,I hope he's not a member on here now!)

Always wanted to dabble in the dog show world, until I found out how many nutcases are into it. I like the breeds that still have brains, I stay away from popular breeds, I used to groom dogs, that whole 80-90's ruining of the cocker spaniel was something I could have done without. Flat coats are pretty. My husband wants a bird dog, but haven't settled on a breed yet.

Arvid! That's it, how could I possibly forget a name like Arvid?

@oldhenlikesdogs have you ever talked to drumstick diva about dogs? I think (if I'm remembering correct) that she used to be involved in showing dogs. (And no, you don't sound too hopped up on caffeine...are you?)

We got the fencing to start work on the duck enclosure yesterday! It's finally going to start

I'm getting anywhere from 2-6 eggs a day...mostly 3-4. I had several in a molt. My EE Shirley quit laying about a week ago , I think she probably got sick of all the slackers in the coop. I have 17 girls.
Yesterday we finally broke the 5-0-5-0 egg laying pattern and got 6 eggs! :weee  Slowly coming out of the long molt/winter slow down. YAY! I think it was either one of the BRs or the little SS (Peanut) that decided she'd had enough time off.

Anyone else seeing a bump in eggs recently?

I have only had one small hen laying since at least September - she lays only small to medium eggs. 2 others are now also laying, so finally getting some large and extra large eggs again.

We're now gaining 2 minutes of daylight every day, so soon everyone should get back in the egg laying swing.
