Morning!

Blooie, hope you enjoyed your 2-day long anniversary and best wishes for many more!

Not a lot going on here today and that's just dandy.

I just got off the phone with my cousin in Laramie.

On St. Patrick's Day I'm going to her house for the weekend! She's already making plans for us to get together with friends for corned beef & cabbage on the 17th. Then the 18th we're going to meet up with my SIL to go to Fort Collins, CO for the day.

So excited, it's going to be a lot of fun!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I haven't been to Fort Collins yet, maybe next trip we will go up there and check it out. A friend of mine loves it there.

The first time I saw Ft. Collins, it was a worn-looking little western town. Now it's big, full of shops and restaurants, bars and specialty places, full of well-to-do folks and sort of the happening place between here and Denver. I'll have fun for one day but can't imagine spending more time than that there.

You'll have to check it out the next time you go to CO Friday!

Have a great time, but travel prepared!!! We love you and don't want you in a ditch somewhere!

Yeah, it's kind of an iffy time of year for travel so the only thing that would hold me back is the weather. I'll keep an eye on the weather B!

This will probably be the only chance I have to do a little get away until fall. DH is going to have hernia surgery the week after I go and then I'll probably go back to work at the course around the first part of April.

As promised, here is my first Java Finch baby. It's very pale because mine are Fawn Javas so they have red eyes. It was pipping last night and then I had to wait awhile this morning before I could check it as it was quite cool outside. The two eggs below it are infertile, the ones directly to the right beside the baby look good and should hatch over the next few days, and the one on the far right is the one that has died. Finch and parakeet eggs are great because you can tell after a few days of incubation which ones are developing due to the colour of the shell. Infertile eggs go a bit pinkish/tan, whereas the fertile ones stay bright white. But I still like to candle them as it's always such a thrill to see that little baby growing.

Luvy on the right A better one of Valentine cracking seeds
They are such a cheeky pair and now like to fly up onto our heads. They do enjoy sitting on your hand and having a pat too.

Pie Rosie
I've seen Rosie confidently eating, cracking millet seeds and she barely wanted any hand feeding formula this morning. They are both starting to want to come out and do a bit of flying. I'm amazed at how fast they are weaning themselves. They are just over a month old now.
