The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I'm going in for surgery tomorrow, so if you never hear from me again, well I guess that would be normal as I don't post much.

Very nice looking birds NFC.

Good luck - we'll be waiting to hear how it went. :hugs

Debby, your chickens are gorgeous. What breed is the third photo (probably one we don't have here).

My finch eggs that I put in my incubator are finally pipping. Little Squeak is getting big - I must take some more photos. And my bigger Java babies have started nibbling on millet so they won't need me for too much longer. Possibly another week or two and they will have weaned.

That's a Legbar in the 3rd picture. I have 3 of them, 2 have a single comb and 1 has a rose comb. Hope they'll soon be giving me some pretty eggs :fl They're not bad birds, but not sure they'll ever be 'people friendly' like the Welsummer.

Congrats on the pipping! And more photos are always a good idea :thumbsup

You better come right back and give us the word you're ok! None of that disappearing stuff allowed!

Yeah, I tried that...didn't work! Sending prayers for a fast recovery!

Debby, it was a hoot - she just messaged me right out of the blue!! Have you seen the Wyoming Through the Lens facebook page? Oh, wait - I forgot you don't do facebook. Well, anyway, I keep seeing these magnificent photos of places in Wyoming and adding them to my list of places I want to stop and visit when Ken and I start traveling for his Deputy Grand Master and then his Grand Master year. Wow - he'll be Deputy GM as of Monday, then it's just one year from then until he's Grand Master. This sure sneaked up on us fast!!

FINALLY, photos of your setup and chickens! They sure don't look

Jae, we need to change your screen name to MamaBird! You amaze me!

The Rav did great going up the mountains and back down. Trip to Cheyenne Monday was uneventful, thankfully, but staying at the La Quinta was a mistake. The room was nice enough, but it's right across the street from multiple sets of railroad tracks! <Sigh> Cross that one off the list when we start our visitations!

Okay, got the girls in a few minutes so gonna poke around some threads, see what's shakin' and then get ready to enjoy them! Kids have an appointment with a real estate agent this afternoon. Fingers crossed that they do NOT get this house. Oh, they're preapproved and all of that, and it is much bigger and all on one level to accomodate Kendra's wheelchair, but that's where it's suitability ends. What a dump! But they're so desperate to get out of that small trailer they're in that they'll jump on just about anything, and houses in Cowley in their price range don't come up often. The parts of this house that are nice are very nice, but the rest of it (it's like one small house with additions every which way) needs much more than carpet and a little paint. I looked at the photos of it on the web site and thought, "Gee, this could really work well". Then I went with them on the first walk-through and after tripping on joints where the additions were thrown on and ripped up linoleum, smelling the rabbit and guinea pigs from the multitude of uncleaned cages, and seeing the paint peeling off the walls, plus the BURN marks on the outside from the heater vent, I sure changed my mind. They aren't real crazy about it either, but the lure of the price, the accessibility for Kendra, and the space might be too much for them to resist.
