The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hey Kelsey

Sorry, I do not know if there is an advantage as such.

We do also have a preserving kit and preserve also.

The advantage with the herbs is obvious, they are just sitting in a jar, ready when you want them and as I mentioned, much more aromatic that shop bought. We do use them fresh also but dehydrate when we have excess and need to prune or if they are about to go to seed; for example, Basil.

With the fruit, I can just have a container on the side with the fruit 'chips' in it and have some when I want as opposed to having to remove them from whatever they have been preserved in.

Top left is my dehydrated parsley, bottom left shop bought. Top right is my dehydrated chives, bottom left shop bought; not the best picture but you can see the colour difference.

Also, there is the satisfaction of having grown it yourself ;)

Wow that difference is amazing!

Thanks for all the info. Fruit chips sound delicious. :)

Maybe I should invest in one ha

Anyway, curious if anyone has experience with either breed? Maybe some of our Aussie/NZ friends have seen them around?

And of course the VERY high energy level and intelligence.

Yep, I have Kelpie experience and yep, they are VERY energetic and require lots of work and attention.

When not working ACD's will lounge around; kelpies, not so much! They are the canine equivalent of the energizer bunny ;)

Thanks for the input and info! Do you think they are similar to the Belgian Malinois in that regard then? Like that they are go go go and always need a job or something to do?

Do you think they would be happy with just a lot of hikes, biking, and tons of training (tricks, obedience, tasks, etc.) And fetch Or do they really need to work?

I take it they are not a sleep till noon or 1 type of dog? :lau
