The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

There's a guy @ my work like that. Constantly whining about being broke, yet always shows up late & wants to leave early. He went to the dentist yesterday and wanted me to take his shift today because he didn't think that he'd feel up to going to work. Give me a break. I went to work every day with an abscess that had my face all swollen. When he is at work he does nothing. His mother is the assistant manager and even she wants to fire him, but the manager won't do it for some unknown reason.

Situations like that are so frustrating :he

DH had a mechanic our first summer at the golf course like that. He had some excuse almost every week for missing work. DH gave him a warning, one more time & you're out. The guy called in to say he wouldn't be at work because he had to go hunting "to provide for the family". Dude, you can provide for your family by working! Needless to say, DH fired him.

Probably 2. I haven't got any right now. Hopefully I'll get a few piglets in April. I miss having pigs. They're so friendly and entertaining.

I've never had any before, I'm afraid I'd get too attached to use them for food. But I do find it interesting to read about other people's experience with them.

Debby - I was thinking about you & that boot the other day. Are you still wearing it? I'm assuming that you don't wear it when you're outside. How painful is it when you don't have it on? Are you hanging in there ok?

Thanks for asking Michelle! I quit wearing the boot about a week ago, it was messing up my back with all the lurching it was creating. And no, couldn't wear it outside, it's open at the toe and that just won't work with our snow & ice.

Tuesday I had my appointment with the orthopedic place and they took a cast of my foot and up to about mid-calf for a special made brace. That one will have hinges so I can keep my ankle moving and still support my foot. And (bonus) I'll be able to wear it with my shoes! It should be ready in about 2 weeks or so.

Oddly enough I was actually ok skinning etc. Just couldn't be there for the kill. I hid in the chicken coop.

That sounds like Bob & his wife Sue's situation (according to Bob, Sue comes out once the killing part is done).

When we had meat rabbits, DH got to do all of it by himself. I didn't mind cooking the rabbit meat, but I didn't want to be involved in the rest. (What a sissy I am!)

Wow. That's a lot more than just orthotics. Fingers crossed that it will do the trick!

I thought I'd be like that too. I surprised myself. (And was quite proud too)
