Something humongous flies over my house during the summer. It's never low enough for me to see what exactly it is though :confused:
We had an osprey hanging around last sumner, that was really neat. She would sit in my tree and eat fish from a nearby pond. :D

I've actually never seen a Bald Eagle near my house, they tend to stick closer to the Columbia River, which is just a short distance from us. We lost a hen to a hawk, but my chickens are doing a better job keeping an eye out for them now. I have no doubt that an Eagle would go after a chicken if the opportunity was there!

It could be a Golden Eagle...I believe they are slightly larger than a Bald eagle. Their wingspan can reach 7.5 feet!

I've had a baby cockatiel hatch in my incubator yesterday evening so I'm back to feeding every 2 hours as there's too much of an age gap now to put it back in the nest.

I found a cockatiel hen who is not the mother of these chicks in the nest in the aviary yesterday afternoon so I've moved her to a small aviary as I really want the parents to get the chance to raise at least one chick to weaning (I want to keep one of their lutino chicks so I'd like them to raise that one). They are frustrating creatures sometimes!

Hi Jae! Everything's good here!

Sounds like they are keeping you on your toes. I hope it works out and they raise the baby the way you want. Are you going to give any eggs to the other hen?

I haven't got any to give her (thankfully the first girl has finally stopped laying) but I'd love her to lay some of her own. By the time I'd sold my last cockatiel my ad had 12 people watching it. Now I have 26! I sure won't have 14 babies to sell.

I just had a look at the babies out in the nestbox. The oldest two are getting the lions share of the food, and the two youngest are being fed but are smaller than they should be (especially the week old baby who is only as big as the three day old baby). So I will very likely bring them in, then at least my little scrap that hatched will have some cuddle buddies.

I'm glad to hear that you are finding plenty of buyers for them.

The oldest and strongest definitely know how to get plenty of food! Moving them in sounds like a good idea...but a lot more work! Looking forward to some updated pictures! :)
