The Odyssey/Eros flock

Thanks for the photo! I've had youngsters develop floppy combs like this and I've never seen them straighten out, if anything, they get worse. Pretty bird though, love the colors! ❤ This said, I don't care for curly floppy combs either, so I don't blame you for not wanting to continue this characteristic.

Up till now, I've only ever had females with floppy combs. I definitely expected this to show up within the line, since many of the female Tsouloufates have floppy combs. With the girls, I don't mind. But the boys, I do. Especially with how big their comb gets, it is a bad idea to have it flopping like that

I totally agree. A slighty crooked comb is cute on the gals, but roosters need a bolder looking, neatly standing comb. And when they flop over the eyes or face, it just looks bad and is not good for the bird. A dubbing is definitely in order, so no sense in continuing this genetic trait.

Dubbing was in the back of my mind as well. His comb still isn't debilitating, but with Kolovos's comb genetics, it will be. I've never dubbed a bird before. I know a lot of American gamefowl keepers dub in the autumn and winter, so that there isn't too much blood loss

I have never had the need to dub and hope I never have too! I'd only have it done if the comb obstructed the entire eye of the bird. I would imagine it's a very painful procedure for the bird, I'd have to let a qualified vet do it. Not for me!

Imagine If I used hair gel. Or hairspray
Give em that spiked look, punk rocker style.
