What a great time!!! I saw birds I've seen only in pictures. I saw birds I've never seen before at all. I saw geese that looked like they came out of a faerie tale. I saw a very litty bitty tiny rooster trying to mix it up with the very big rooster in the cage beside him. Blessedly I did not buy any of the oh-so-cute speckled mille fleurs -- much as I really really wanted to.
We got to see the juniors showing -- such smart, hardworking, capable kids. Sometimes I read on these forums about a parent who doesn't want to be bothered with their child's chicken interests -- like the kid couldn't be involved in more sinister activities. One has can only shake their head in wonder.
Chicken people are so nice. Everywhere I turned people were chattering so happily, engaging in conversations with strangers, sharing information, eager to answer questions, just nice, nice, nice. We went out to dinner with a poultry meet-up group I belong to -- all the way around it was a real fun day.
