The Old Folks Home

I have movies on my computer. I have my regular monitor hooked into my computer, but I also have my large screen tv hooked into my computer. When I want to play a movie that's on my computer, I switch it so I can play it on the large screen. Windows 7 never gave me a problem. When I upgraded to Windows 10, I've had nothing but problems.

I finally found a really good media player that I like, and it's working perfectly.

Oh I'm sure you can find MANY enablers here that can suggest replacements. On BYH too! But seriously .... good for you. Clearly you have taken the reins to your life.
I have to No one else will... Oh and add writing to the list... I may not be able to crank out that novel like I wanted but I am pretty good at a short story.

Two novels in my computer one over 90,000 words and one over 80,000.... And you cant tell from my typing oftentimes... I do know how to use grammar....:th

Novels? Love novels by chance? :D. Drama..Western... ?
Naw..... Just Science fiction... Fantasy Though I am experimenting with romance....

My roots lie in Science Fiction. Though my short stories are almost always real life.

Deb! I'm so happy to hear that you got good news at your last checkup!:celebrate:yesss:

It's been a bit frantic around here. We are trying to finish up our wood harvest then yesterday morning, I went out to collect eggs and when I stuck my hand under a hen I encountered soft and fluffy as in chicks. Good grief. Guess I miss dated eggs. They were supposed to hatch this Friday by my calculations. The last egg was still to be hatched so I stuffed it under a bantam. Egg pipped early last night, still no zip this morning. Baby cheeping away inside. I have been seeing thick membranes in some of my eggs so I started chipping away egg. No veins visible. Baby still fussing at me. Mom giving me stink eye. I promised her I would return her baby to her and proceeded to do an emergency hatch. Baby rolled out in my hand, normal except for that stupid thick, dry membrane. Mom got her baby back.

Guess I'm going to have to draw the line with broody hens. No brooding after the end of June. The temps just get too hot to risk it.

Next job up taking Roxi for her stitches to be removed, then home to make a pen for the new mom and her baby.

Only one left. I'm going to candle tonight for viability and hope she gets one to hatch when I calculated it was supposed to.:hmm

I love to write.Strictly amateur stuff but I had an English Comp teacher tell me in high school that I really needed to consider studying English in college that I was a natural when it came to composition.

Writing is like art to me. If I had to do it professionally, I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much.

What type of Sci Fi do you write @perchie.girl? I used to do 'fan art' meaning I would do sketches of science fiction and tv characters. Sold a bunch. One day at the local art fair back in IL I was standing admiring one of the artist's works. Just really nice but stale. Everybody was displaying pictures of barns. Barns Barns and more Barns. Still, I liked her style and use of color and told her that. She commented that I must be an artist and what kind of art did I do. When I told her, science fiction celebrities/fantasy and celebrity art she kind of wrinkled her nose and said. "well, what REAL art do you do?" I just gave her a sweet smile (all the while picking out the best take down hold I could do on her) and countered by asking her how many sales she had made so far. She kind of shuffled around muttering about how things had been slow, yatta yatta. I just said 'too bad. I made 500 dollars last Sunday selling at a science fiction convention. Maybe you should try some sci fi/fantasy art and hit some cons' She suddenly got busy straightening pictures. I loved it!

Well, my bantam hen is keeping the tradition of being rotten mothers going. I went out, MacGyvered a pen for her, moved her and her chick down into it and she immediately looked at the chick like it was an alien out to eat her (little tiny adorable thing) and started pecking at it. I immediately grabbed baby and asked the hen who had hatched out two babies yesterday if she had room for one more. Stuffed Teeny Weeny under her wing and she immediately snuggled down on it. Mommy Dearest got ejected back into the flock. Last glance over my shoulder showed her back in a nesting box. God I love a good broody hen. Could have pinched off the bantam's head and used it for a marble at that point.

I have one more bantam on eggs....geesh:fl Like, here I go again. Think I'll move box and all into the broody pen tonight and hope for the best.

LOL... Pinched off head .....

Love the scifi comment...

I write Science fiction that would be suitable for a graphic novel. Main character similar to a cross between Zoe Saldana in Avatar and Kate Bekinsale in Underworld.

And an assortment of human and alien characters... some are shape shifters others are not. Bad guys Good guys In an intergalactic society.

Best I could describe without giving away plot. Thats my main book...

I entered NanoWrimo.... a couple of years back... National Writers Month is a monthly contest to Write 50,000 Words of a novel in thirty days.... I decided to write a character development story to enrichen the environment.... Wound up Writing a side story that was better than the main story... did 50,000 words in about 25 days...

Characterized a World and two space stations and a Human Hybrid Named Maric and another assortment of characters
