The Old Folks Home

Eh.....Too many big projects. At least that is what my body is telling me.

How about you, Cap?
I despair that this house(especially my room and bathroom will be clean by friday) . But I keep pecking away at it. I took 2 brooders out of the bathroom today.
Think I finally settled on a coop location downhill from Turkey Town, closer to the river. But not too close. It's behind the other buildings, so hopefully hubby will hear less of my rooster than he is currently. I will run fencing down from Turkey Town around the new coop. Ultimately I would like to enclose another area for the goats.
I grouted the floor in the bathroom, which hubby has been bugging me about for ages. Was going to do the kitchen as well, but we had no dark brown grout.

I went out tonight to lock up the coops and all 5 fledglings were lined up on the top roost bar next to Uncle Remy. Remy is doing a great job with them. This morning he was tidbitting them little pieces of bread.

I have two BBR roosters in with the main coop. They took over the 'uncle' job with the hens weaned the spring's chicks at 4 weeks. One of them would stay out with them when the other birds were in the coop and made sure they all found their way in at night.

Meanwhile, after closing the door between the coops for 24 hours, Screech is now saying..Chicks? What chicks!?

My dear, they aren't coming to see your house. They are coming to see you.

My favorite saying? My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy!

My husband longs for a clean house. The only time it happens is when we get company, about twice a year. I just have so much to do to get ready for winter!

Electric fence.

This cracks me up because I actually do that. Anytime driving situation gets bad. I don't listen to music while driving but I do listen to downloaded podcasts everyday back and forth work drive. Whenever it's dark and raining hard or lots of snow I turn off the radio to 'focus' and sit further up in my seat to 'see better'....lol 😂😆
There is an actual reason for doing this, and YES, it actually does help you see better by turning down the volume. It's the way the brain processes input, and stimuli. When it's not being bombarded with multiple inputs, and stimuli, more resources are dedicated to the remaining input. Thus, turning down the volume is one less thing for the brain to process, so it can focus more on visual.

Dh too would love a home that looks like a page from Better Homes And Gardens. I did keep it fairly pristine when it was just him, and me. When Dd #1 and the 3 little grands moved in, all that ended. I'm happy if I can keep it just clean enough that visitors don't call disaster relief due to tornado damage. It's almost never pristine, but I do manage to keep it fairly sanitary.
