The Old Folks Home

There is an actual reason for doing this, and YES, it actually does help you see better by turning down the volume. It's the way the brain processes input, and stimuli. When it's not being bombarded with multiple inputs, and stimuli, more resources are dedicated to the remaining input. Thus, turning down the volume is one less thing for the brain to process, so it can focus more on visual.

The case of diminishing input/output - Oh, I get it. Good morning everyone.

See we work maybe not away from home allot now but heck in the home I do not stop from sun up to sun down but they know that
Me too, Penny. I leave the property once a month to pick up a months supply of groceries and feed then back home. I'm always doing something it seems and there is always something to be done that carries over to the next day. Go to bed tired wake up tired but I don't know any other way to do things. I don't work as fast as I used to but I getter dun as they say.

I like to keep the house tidy but by no means am I a neat freak. DH helps out a LOT, bless him. He tells me that I worry too much about keeping the house clean. I just laugh and tell him that with no close family on either side, a tidy house may be the deciding factor between us growing old in our home or being put into a home.

My biggest foe is dust. We live closer than we would like to a gravel road and cars like to see how fast they can barrel up the hill by our house. It's like living in a freaking desert sometimes and no matter how careful we are the dust finds a way in. I told my husband that I need to make a sign that says, Slow Down! Stupid Dogs and Slow Old People Live Here and put it out by our driveway.

Good morning everyone. I think we are in Indian Summer. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s this week and into next. Makes me wonder when Ma Nature is going to sit on our heads.

Yup, me too.. Once a month to town for groceries and feed. Get out there and do what I can, then come in and read or heckle peeps and play games on the PC.

It was back up to 65 when I woke up this morning.. Got out and mowed until the weed and grass trimmer (on wheels) ran out of gas. Normally I quit when I throw the lines, get pooped or too sweat and hottie, or run out of gas. Rarely do I run out of gas. Got the upper half of the back 40 done though. Still need to clean out hen houses and put new bedding in.

My husband mows the majority of the yard with a finishing mower behind our compact Iseki tractor. He also mows trails for us to walk on and two landing strips in our pasture for our RC flying. I do the trim work with the lawnmower. Our yard eats weedeaters for breakfast unfortunately.

We have almost 30 acres here depending on what description you read. 2/3rds of it in timber and more for the two ponds. A large pasture, fruit tree arbor, barn, the chicken coop and run. There always seems to be something that needs to be done.

It almost makes me look forward to winter when all I have to do is run out to take care of the birds and one of us grab a load of wood for the fireplace. For that we use a big wagon that we found at Orschelns.

It's a lot of work but we wouldn't have it any other way and I sincerely believe that if we lived in a cushy country manner, I wouldn't be as active as I am at this point and I'd be coasting downhill faster health wise.

I am a firm believer in "Use it or lose it." I will fight the aging process kicking and screaming all the way.

I agree, getting out and getting exercise keeps one younger and healthier than those that live in cities. Just going out and standing barefooted on the earth helps get you grounded as well. Excellent health maneuver.
