The Old Folks Home

I don't kneel, too hard to get back up. I bend over for as long as I can endure it. The knees have plagued me now and then since I was 20 something and showing Cockers. Couldn't get back up. My boyfriend(HA!) decided I was just lazy. :rant

Yeah right. I loved shoveling pea gravel and it took three wheelbarrow loads to refill each run (7 of them). Loved shoveling snow. I think because of something Sour mentioned(when he cuts grass) . He could see the effects of his effort. Yep that's what motivates me. I have to see results.

I read something somewhere about bending at the waist being easier than kneeling for either spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease. I'm the same way. I can bend over and touch the floor but cannot bend over and hold a 45 degree angle from the floor.

Love cutting branches too, I use my branch lopper( kinda like a castrator) It's only for small diameter branches but, I couldn't handle a bigger/heavier one, so I MAKE IT WORK FOR ME
I once had a pile of branches near the street for pickup, well over 6 feet tall. The neighbors knew I was angry about someone to produce that effect.

It's weird when I was much younger - one knee or the other would go out of service when climbing stairs.I had to lead with the good leg going up but, the bad leg would function well coming downstairs - :idunno At some point, the knees started behaving

Cap, trust me, I have tried that. I still have trouble rising. I bend at the waist very well and have tried using a bucket seat. I still have to have something nearby that I can use to pull myself upright.

Physical therapy might help but with the Covid it's not going to happen any time soon.
Maybe a Walker with a seat?
