I went through my spice jars this morning and turfed out some long-ago-opened specimens (you know, 'best before 2005' and suchlike), including cardamom, where a few pods were languishing in the bottom of the jar. Instead of chucking them out, I added them to the chickens' ff for this evening's meal. I was rewarded with the most wonderful aroma when I scooped it out just now. I hope they like it! Makes me feel all Christmas-y
