The Old Folks Home

Chickens do have taste buds.. The ones I have right now are really picky but they do love alfalfa hay. Did you have to soak them?
Mine do. I swear! I buy good layer pellets for them and they won't eat them. They love the local MFA's hog production pellets though. So I mix them with game bird finisher and give the hens oyster shell on the side. I'm happy because I don't find 6 inches of ruined feed under their feeders and they are happy because they are getting what they like to eat. Score Score. Plus the hog production pellets are lower in protein so they aren't so fat and healthier.

Anything I find in the bottom of the feeder gets turned into wet mash.

Chickens were locked in at 5:40 pm. It's dropping to 40 tonight, it's damp and windy out. My floors are vacuumed, and scrubbed with the scrubber. I need to recuperate a bit, and drink a cup of coffee.

I may get our tree started tonight, but it depends on how I feel later. I might wait, and do it tomorrow. The bathrooms get cleaned tomorrow night. Dh put a lot of our lights up outside. They're pretty. He's still got a bit more to go, but it's shaping up nicely.

Today is Pearl Harbor Day. Please take a moment to remember all those people who were killed at Pearl Harbor and the service men and women who died as a result to the starting of WWII.

I've been to the USS Arizona Memorial twice and wept both times.

Grandma A. was fortunate inasmuch as all three of her sons served in various capacities in WWII and came home. Uncle Bob as a medic, Dad as a sniper, and Uncle Bruce was up in Los Alamos, NM, designing a bomb or two in secret.

Okeee where is everyone?

Chilly foggy day here today. I did a lot but don't know what I did sort of day. It's one of those days where only I know what I did. Very unrewarding.

Learned that one of the specialists we go to is scheduled to get his Covid vaccine on the 20th. Told him we will wait to see how all the doctors do before voluntarily holding our arm out and playing guinea pig.
