Last year I got on Google Earth and looked up the house that I basically grew up in. My parents and I lived there for almost 20 years.
The 8 acres set next to a cemetery. When they sold it, the Catholic Church bought the property to add the acreage to their cemetery, then they sold the acre that the house set on.
I was stunned when I brought up the address and the house was gone. The garage was gone. All the fruit trees were gone. It was if none of it ever existed. My parents built on to the house. I had an art studio there. It's where I had my horses. All just wiped from the face of the earth. Only just memories and phots left. So I know how you feel.![]()
My Grandma on my Dad's side lived in a building what was built in the 1920s and was at one time a General store. About 10 years ago, it was torn down...after going through the Depression, WWII and so on. I would have thought it would have been declared an historical building given the age.
