Nice, but how do you squeeze a coconut?I have to admit, I'm just as pleased as punch with myself for being so thoughtful. Lil Ms Maggie who was ripped from back to belly by Bruce (he's just too big!) has completely healed. That tear was so big you could have put a golf ball in there. Bag Balm was not the solution as it was too gooey, so I decided to use Coconut Oil (God Save the Hen) instead. I doused her with warm coconut oil every other day, and to my amazement, the wound began to heal from the inside out. Coconut oil is precious and has antibacterial agents and collagen forming agents in it. So, today she's completely healed along with feather growth where once was a gaping hole. Still Ms Maggie won't come down from her perch, and her feathers have become heavy with natural oils. Solution? Turn the tub that's her lil house around, add a second tub (cement mixing tubs from Lowe's) and add a bucket of dirt! If ya can't get the bird to the ground to bathe, take the bath to them! It's been a couple of hours and true to form I look out from the deck and there she is, taking a dirt bath for the first time in months! It's a sight to behold.View attachment 2951715
I didn't. I squoze DG for the oil!Nice, but how do you squeeze a coconut?
That is hard to beat. I bet DH isn't nearly that creative.Pieces of straw, pieces of plastic, nails that have worked out of the ground from the previous owner, pieces of corn.
We live on a private road, so the county doesn't plow it at all. Of course, we live at the very end of this dirt road.Good afternoon! Lots of snow here. I shoveled the driveway, and a neighbor plowed from our drive out to the mail boxes.
The county, however, has not plowed the road. I know they're very busy. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.
Same here. It's a private road for 1/4 mile. We're at the very end too. There are 5 houses back here, and the only school age kids are homeschooled, so no buses have to come back here. We are VERY low on the list for getting plowed out.We live on a private road, so the county doesn't plow it at all. Of course, we live at the very end of this dirt road.
