The Old Folks Home

I walked in the bamboo forest a ways to get older growth.. All I can say is wow! Amazing! And it's actually grass!
This is the bamboo with wide stems. You can see it on the far side of the river.

I tried something new for the chickens today. I took my watering can and watered the soil in the run. They were scared of the watering can, but they sure do like the results!
I use the hose and spray it down when it is very hot.

Got Bamboo, Cap? Wow. You guys got all the good stuff. Rocks, bamboo....nice winter temps..

Missouri got 17 varieties of poison ivy, things that bite, things that sting and things that give you rashes.
Yeah, we have whole trees that look like poison ivy! Not touching them to find out! Lots of biting, stinging creatures too.

I meant to take my camera/phone with me on my second trip to gather bamboo.. I can only pile it so high on the top of the jeep. A pick 'em up truck would be nice, right about now.
Any hoo, I got one project finished. Prince Charming needed a new lid for his pen. He's my one winger and can't fly but there's deer netting over the top of the pen, now a new rain roof. I really really need to power wash that old shed. I'm just always too busy. (giggles)

Bamboo worked out so much better than the tree branches I previously used to support the tarp.

And I got the door framed on the new coop, and the front brace done for the second floor where the nesting boxes will be.. I can even build them a ladder!

What's the 'smelly' one, @CSolis, you didn't say. It's very pretty.
gardenias..I call them smelly because when I went to our 10th grade home coming dance, my escort brought a corsage of gardenias.... they are strong smelling flowers. The scent is wafting in the front window now.
