The Old Folks Home

I took a 5-hour nap yesterday. Shouldn't have because I was wide awake at 4:29 a.m. this morning. My CPAP says I had 10:55 of sleep in the last 24 hours. I've got a lab sleep study at the end of the month. Hopefully it'll help determine why my sleep pattern is so errant. I'd just like to feel normal again, whatever that is. :/

Sleep is critical. I hope it improves for you

Had a nice highpoint yesterday. My freshman flock has started laying! They were hatched out mid-June and when winter hit before they started production I thought "We'll be feeding their slacker selves through the winter." Quite a surprise to open the nest box and discover such a dark olive little egg that it was almost brown in color. THIS was what I was breeding for, and from a blue-feathered bird. Hooray! Maybe there's some salvation from store-bought eggs this winter after all!

Bugs are sorted. I got about 1/3 of a gallon of mealworms. Not bad for a plastic shoebox sized container. I started another one too. With escalating prices, and projected grain shortages, I want to ramp it up a bit. In case there is a feed shortage, I can supplement my feed with things like this.

I was looking at the parts list on the copy of the estimate they sent us for repairing my truck. You just don't replace a bumper anymore. It's a bumper assembly. I'm seeing at least 12 parts just for the bumper assembly alone. Remember years ago, there was a toy car, that you would pull back to wind the spring, then let it go into a wall, and pieces would fly everywhere, then you'd put it all back together, and do it again? Well after reading the parts list, it put me in the mind of those toy cars, but with more pieces.
