The Old Folks Home

Baby aspirin was not such a good idea for all people.
According to the research by Cardiologist Dr Barry Sears, acetylsalicylic acid blunts any and all ecosiniods in your system. Ecosinoids are messenger and regulation substances that are so basic, even sea sponges have them. They work to perform low level regulation throughout your body.
So, why would you want to mute these over a long term basis?
Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
EDIT: I was 40 when he suggested it.

I suspect a lot of prescription meds cause problems long term.

I read an article that said there is a pre cardiac arrest state and a post cardiac arrest state that we are in. Most of the prescriptions given to us pre cardiac arrest are good for post cardiac arrest and to not prevent a heart attack.

It would likely be better to focus on diet, exercise and other life style changes before a heart attack and then give meds as needed after a heart attack.

If I had half a working brain I would take it out and play with it.

Ummmm at our ages there are some things that are better left unseen. Cause once you see it you can't unsee it.;)

Going to turn 70 next week. Don't feel that old. Read the news and they are talking about vintage things from the 60s and 70s, then I realize how old I was back then, look at my reflection in the mirror and groan...yep I'm 70, thank God!
I will turn 70 in November. I was also just looking in the mirror the other night and asked that person staring back at me...who are you?! Time, never thought it would go as fast as the old folks were saying to me back in the day. It does.

"We don't stop riding because we get old, we get old because we stop riding"

With today's modern polymer science and manufacturing, there is so much good protection equipment available that you're safer on the bike than you are walking to the commode in the middle of the night in your skivies.
Chest protection is probably tougher for females, but I have taken hits on mine that have left me breathless for a couple minutes. Not to mention hits on the shoulder or back that didn't.
Ok..will share, even though you all are sharing the fun. Had a man get killed a couple of weeks ago on the highway not far from us. He was going to pass a truck..big one, clipped the back of it, that flung him into the oncoming traffic, was hit of course, so bounced back onto the other lane again. That road was closed for half the day. Can't imagine how that affected the ones that hit and or witnessed it. If I understand correctly, you guys have a dirt bike. That's better than being on a highway. I think. 🤔
