The Old Folks Home

I floss/brush/rinse with mouthwash once a day, more if warranted. The dentist is amazed at the lack of wear on my teeth, which I attribute to fluoride drops as a kid. Flossing is especially important for gum health. My sister has had to have gum surgery and I don't wish that ordeal upon anybody. (shudder)

Had a visit with the orthopedist earlier this week. I'm just a BMI point off being surgery-eligible for my knees. So we did another round of cortisone to get me by and in three months we'll see about scheduling me. Looks like I'll start the new year with new knees. Yay!

Yay!!

But I do need to start taking better care of them.
My junior high English teacher said, "Be true to your teeth, and they'll never be false to you!"

I told that to my dentist the last time I was there. It blew my mind that he had never heard it before! I was sure all dentists had heard EVERY corny joke about teeth before they got out of school.

But he'd never heard of Inna Gadda Da Vida either. :lau

That’s a great saying!

Good morning, OF - really like my dentist - the hygienist - not so much. I haven't complained - yet.
I hate it when the hygenist thinks it's her duty to lecture me on dental hygiene. They're my teeth, and i do the best i can considering all these medical conditions. Makes me want to slap them. And, i am not permitting them to poke needles down into my gums and assign my gums numbers. I have had ENOUGH dental trauma for two lifetimes!

Yep. I agree.

I tried every dental hygienist in town... found a good one.

She is a gem. She never fusses at you, and cleans gently.
