I love baby silkies. Please post some pictures. Nice job incubating, too.

Their little tops haven't fluffed up yet, but here are some.

21 silkie babies hatched, out of 26 that went into lock down! I think this is the best silkie hatch I've had. I want a splash pretty bad, and I think some of those light blue ones just could be splash.

Yeah I love it when they're all messy looking and unfluffed. That's how my PigPen got her name.

She is now the fabulous and wonderful Miss Piggy. Out of 70$ worth of eggs, I got her and her brother, Thriller.

I ate Thriller last week in some stew.

She is, I don't know, at least 2 maybe 3 years old and has NEVER LAID AN EGG. Ever. She has never expressed interest in nesting boxes, or chicks, or anything other than being completely fabulous. Her highness squawks for me each evening at dusk and I have to pick her up and put her on a roost. And if I don't get it right (she has to be next to friends) she will hop down and give you an earful and then you have to repeat the situation. I might have (not purposefully, seriously) forgot to tell BF about this the first time I went away overnight. I got a really funny text message asking me what this chicken wants from him.

And if I'm late getting home... I hear about it.

This past winter when it was really cold she proved to me that she could get into the coop and up onto a roost, she just prefers not to when she gets roostside service from her human slave.

And it tugs on your heart - you can hear The Call of the Pigg inside the house.

scg..I have a Miss Piggy, it's a leghorn, all of my leghorns' are Miss Piggy's. I only have one or two at a time. Not sure why they say they don't eat much. They eat like no other.
And I'm probably more cute than Arielle..can I come over?
