I had read that, too, but I'm nervous that's going to mess with the seals. I'd rather have safe canned goods than pretty ones that don't seal well. Have you tried that?


PS... here's a nice shot of Beeper camouflaging himself in my flock.

But...it helps them seal better...

Just tried some of my strawberry jam on my sweet white bread that came out of the oven about an hour ago. I was going to take a picture, but somehow it disappeared first... wow it's tasty.

Sorry, I know I should not be, but I am chuckling here

You try and introduce a vaccinated, wormed, pest-free chicken to the flock and it gets picked on, ostracized etc and spends weeks trying to get accepted.

A pest-ridden stranger wanders in and they throw out the 'Welcome' mat

I've posted Beeper on facebook, and as such he has already gotten a last name... Patton. Looking like an army helmet and infiltrating the flock so stealthily...

If he wasn't so darned infested this could really be fun versus just sarcastically entertaining.
