LOVE IT!!

Yea, I liked the days when we actually wrote with pens and pencils and wrting was sort of an art. We all had our own style. They don't even teach cursive any more. But now, if I have to write at work, my hand gets sore and tired. Whole lot easier hitting keys...guess I'll have to start exercising my hands.

HAH!!

When I started writing, I HAD to write with a fountain pen, take dictation, and have a blotter paper, so that I could turn the page. I think that was second grade..when we had to switch to the fountain pen... And yes, take the dictation in cursive.

Does that make me 110 years old? :lau

No one else had to write with a fountain pen?

Sheesh! Ball point pens didn't show up until around the 1950s!!!

And working or being retired doesn't have much to do with age. It is a factor of wanting/needing money, and if you are capable of not working.

That's what 5 + years and a chicken addiction will get you.
If this thread began as a chicken thread how did it get called "old folks home?" All this talk about fiber........did you know that the DE we put in chickens feed to kill or prevent worms and in their nesting boxes to kill mites has a human edible type that cleans out our blood vessels and prevents hardening of the arteries and high cholesterol?? (DE=diatomaceous earth or crushed microscopic diatoms.)

Quote: I don't know who or why they named this thread that but from what I read of the ages of people on here I may be the only "old" person on here!
Gee, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that as it has some special meaning to some of you guys. I wrote this about something I read pages back. : (

It's OK!

As with any thread, It is best to go back and read the first couple of pages. That will give you an idea of the topic. I you are on BYC long enough, you will discover that the Social threads like this one do not have a hard and fast topic so lots of topics pop up. We talked about a lot of different topics today, like:

@ChickenCanoe living in Ferguson where the riots are going on.
@Chickadoodle has a sick EE cockerel

There was a heart attack discussion that lead to Cholesterol that moved into a fiber discussion
We reached 20000 posts today too!
