The Old Folks Home

I also have a male black copper Marans, a male wheaten Marans, 2 silkies, and 2 polish. Gonna have some nice oe hopefully. Anybody know an easy way to sex silkies and polish?
Look at the crest feathers. When they are just-hatched chicks, the crests of the hens tend to be round, and set further forward' those of the roo's are oval and run down the back of the neck a little ways. As the birds get older, the Polish roo's wind up with long, pointed feathers in their crests - think dreadlocks. The hens' "do's" are rounded (more like a 'fro) with shorter, blunt-ended feathers.

Here's a pair of WCB Polish chicks. The one on the left was a Bantam hen, the one on the right a standard Roo.

The feathering isn't quite as clear on a Silkie, though roo's usually have a few longer feathers on the backs of their crests.

That is awesome!!!

I had already booked the hotel, I was coming! I just had to wait for someone to find the right flight for me so I didn't have to sit in the airport for 12 hours!
