The Old Folks Home

Now y'all just gonna get me bawling. :hit

She is a ball of thunder, that one. I have never met someone as full of life as she is. And smart. She is going into this surgery knowing as much about it as we thought she could understand. She's seen the scans and Dr. Kelly helped us to explain it all to her. The nurses (and her eye dr., dentist, etc.) are always surprised at how well behaved and calm she is. With her it all comes down to the stickers. Vandy has the best. Sophia the First, Doc Mc Stuffins, Princesses. You should see my laptop. It's covered.
God Bless You

oh..... and no one was impressed that the inspector wanted to burn down the house I wanted to buy?

that was funny.

I thought it was hilarious. I was also impressed that your inspector had a clue.

I watched an inspector pass a house built in the 1950s that had only 4 circuits, and had a kitchen circuit so overloaded by retrofitted built in appliances that turning on the dishwasher and the microwave at the same time blew the fuses, which the previous owners had replaced with coins.

The seeds I started didn't do well and fell victim to bad timing.  I believe they are some type of gourd.  I lost all my starts; those, ornamental peppers, zinnias, and prairie sunflowers.  I had looked and looked for those pepper seeds, it made me sick to lose them........
snails ate my eggplants. Ive never really had good luck with them. What type of ornamental peppers were they? I have tons of different pepper seeds. U should request a free catalog from pepperjoes. I have been buying seeds from them for a while now.

Yakima, personally I just don't like misleading headlines. I think it's bad journalism.

What was misleading about it? It states the simple fact that there is a case in the US - it doesn't say how the case originated, or anything else.

Anything beyond the basic, unadorned "teaser" is interpolation based on one's own unexamined fears and values.

You would have loved 19th C and early 20th C headlines. Or some of the modern ones running around today. I love the ones describing "gun violence" and reading the article indicates that the police shot an armed robber in the course of his crime, etc. Or the ones where we learn that the guy shot by police after he murdered two traffic officers and killed a SWAT team member and was found by DNA to have brutally raped and beaten a 13 or 14 year old was a "good boy" who was only afraid the police would find the crack he was hauling and his parole would be revoked.

I didn't imaging putting a load of sand wouldn't be successful. That's a lot of work. I like the idea of the coasters.
Have you seen those multi catch mouse traps?
I always tell people to imagine the wettest weather they've ever had and avoid placing the coop where the bogs are.

When my wife was pregnant with our daughter (our first), we went for a prenatal visit at about 7 or 8 months. Baby was huge and so was my wife's belly. A couple minutes into the visit, the doctor, a little lady from Singapore that came highly recommended by family and friends, asked my wife - "Did I tell you that you were having twins?"
When I heard this, I thought "cool, a twofer". My wife's response was different. She immediately burst into tears. The doctor sent us for an ultrasound and it turned out there was just one fattie.
As long as you have enough space, you're not a hoarder. I'm on the verge. I don't even tell the wife when I set eggs.

And little kids loved you.

What is accomplished with the misting?
Both the cooling and the misting help the embryo to develop. It also helps with air cell development, which is a function of the embryo developing. Many think it is evaporation but if you look at a not fertile eggs air cell at day 18, it will be a bunch smaller. There is nourishment in the albumen for the embryo too so it will be absorbed and used by the embryo which will make the air cell bigger. The air cell gets a lot bigger in the last three days because of this.

I do not really pay that much attention to the air cell any more--just that it is getting bigger.

I don't know the name of the variety. The plant is compact and the peppers are in shades of cream, yellow, purple, orange, and red, on the same plant! They actually change colors as they mature and the different colors represent the various stages of development. I had them when I was a kid and loved them, they are so pretty. I got older and moved from my parent's home and the plants were lost. I finally found some and was thrilled, but I got distracted by life and my starts dried out. I would try to find and post a pic, but alas..................

That sounds like a Bolivian Rainbow chili. They go through 5 different colors while maturing, and all 5 stages can be visible on the plant simultaneously. Pretty things.

The key to weight loss isn't avoiding feasts, it's the every day diet. Enjoy the heck out of the festival, and think about what you're eating on weekdays instead.
I read an article that said that all of us(well most of us) lose weight during the week and gain weight on the weekend. Monday will usually be your heaviest day and Friday will be the lightest. Those that kept a healthy weight lost more during the week and or did not gain as much on the weekend.

Weight gain and loss is much more complicated than we think sometimes. It is also fairly simple--calories in and calories burnt but adding in psychology and oh my!

I was wondering because it is so humid here, nothing is evaporating.
