The Old Folks Home

DANG!!!  How did he know how many birds you have???   DID YOU TELL HIM?????!!!!!!????

We have Muscovy....I asked the kids, for the three feasts that are coming up,

Do you want roast Muscovy, goose, or turkey?  ALL five boys voted for a roasted Muscovy at each feast, (no turkey and no goose) and the rest of the Muscovy are to be made into pastrami.

We love Muscovy, and it is different from 'regular' duck.

He must have counted... Or actually listened to me when I went all " bird talk "
I better start keeping my mouth :duc

Cc, a terrible thing, both cases. Sounds like a lit of positive activities are available too.

Deb, I was taught to always handle them like they were loaded, but to store them unloaded.

But I had no clue as to his state of mind..... That was my issue.... I believe anyone who knows guns would not pile them up on a top shelf hidden behind the blankets and pillows.....

All I knew at the time was always assume the gun is loaded....

Yup, that's a good assumption. And I fully understand your reasoning.

Oh, chicken stuff. I forgot to mention the demonstration of flight abilities I saw the other day. Veera was being harassed by Eemeli, so she escaped to the coop roof. Took off 3 feet from the coop, and landed on the roof 8 feet hogher, she really can fly, this one.

Deb, love the new Avatar.

I was one that made a bad choice in the beginning when it came to marriage..tooo young! But, having said that, and many can say this, I got two beautiful children from that marriage...then, did the rebound thing because of what the first hubby did, two more beautiful children...telling it like it is here..so the second marriage didn't work either. I thought for sure that I was done. I never dreamed that I would be with the man I'm with today. They say, three times a charm.

He treats me like a Queen. We've been married 22 years now. One child with him. Did the His, mine, and ours thing..12 kids between the two of us! Now have 33 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild. What?! I'm 61 in Nov. Large families are great. We have fun when we all get together during holidays. Has to be in a church building though, not enough room at anyone's home!

Oh man, I can relate to that dizziness! I have called it, Woozy head for years! I never knew, neither did the drs. until this very year what was causing it, they just suggested Meclizine. I'm with you, don't like it! I have to lay straight up in a chair..head straight...to try and keep things equalized. They have test now days, that can find out so many different problems with the inner ear. No, I don't have Minears Disease. But, I have a significant .. less.. amount of fluid in my left ear. They gave me exercises to do, but that didn't do a thing. They call it therapy. :/ They said being dizzy will come and go. I know that! I just had to find what works for me. It's gotten worse for me as I've gotten older. I'm glad I'm not working now. Or, I could say, wish that I could work, but my health just won't let me at this point. I loved working~!
I've always had a problem with my ears. Adding a little alcohol in the ear after showering seems to evaporate it to a degree. Meclizine is good. I've taken it for years. I use to drink a bit much in the evenings. Usually 4 or 5 drinks. To make sure I didn't have a hangover, I took two meclizine tabs each night before bed. I pretty much stopped drinking 3 years ago when I moved in with my DD and her family. I usually have maybe one or two a week now. Saved a lot on the Meclizine tabs.

You know.... I just like people....

I am drawn to men who are Not so pretty. Oh I admire a six pack or broad shoulders... But if there isnt a sense of humor a passion for books and a "manly" sense of confidence... I have seen too much Machismo.... I aint interested.

Women too. We all know women really dress for women right? Men arent so complicated... Not a bashing comment but we are Wayyy different from each other.

I admire people in general who are fit and athletic.... But I also Like people who look like they have been dragged through a knot hole backwards... And want to know the story of how they got there.

One time I was sitting in the local bar just absorbing the atmosphere.... And a beer or two. Two fellows sit up next to me. One an older gentleman John who drives a tow truck. And the other who I had only seen around town at night.... Always wore a bandana around his neck and his truck looked like He found it abandoned in the desert.

All I knew was his name was Clint and he ran the only Farm in Town.... Baby spinach and Arugula all organic. Probably a section of land.... 660 Acres or 267 Hectares... They did their work in the evening and he was in the bar by nine.

I had just started my second beer and the crowd was all locals getting pretty boisterous.... here comes Clint and John. Their conversation was already going....

Clint "I tell you its easy"
John "I dont believe it... You cant tell me.... you can find that on the internet"
Clint " all you need is C4 and the right shape container..."
John " Cant be done they are lyin"
Clint "Shaped charge is all you need.... and a timer and Plutonium.... Thats the hard part"
John " Yeh right.... He staggered off to smoke (we cant smoke in bars any more)

I turned to Clint.... "You forgot the Deuterium" His eyes lit up and he changed seats to sit next to me.... "You are right"

I said... "Atomic bomb?"
Clint "yep"
I said... "Its really NOT that easy is it
Clint "nope"

Then the conversation got interesting....
I said... "So HOw did you wind up running the farm
Clint... "I have a PHD in organic chemestry
I said... "Dang...."
He then went on to describe the chemicals he used on the farm and how quickly they worked and how completely they became innert within a few seconds.
I said... "Dang.... So where did you work before"
Clint. "Litton Industries"

He used to be a VP at Litton Industries back in the day they were developing the technique for growing crystals for Microprocessors. He was one of a team who worked with creating Cubic Zirconia and synthetic Rubies and a few others. We are talking multiple PHDS here Math Physics Electrochemical You name it. When I asked him why he quit. He said he wasnt happy any more. He simply walked away.

What makes him happy? Working with his hands. The farm was sold to developers and shut down.... He makes picnic tables now out of scrap wood.

You tend to meet the most intelligent people. And this was a little podunk town? Or in a bigger area? I bet he is still happy.
