REALLY read the lables on Wild bird seed or Black oil sunflower seed you find in Costco and Walmart.... Some are packaged with what they call a feed through insectiside.... Because it the product keeps longer on the shelf.
I found this out through a discussion of BOSS on one of my horse sites. I had been feeding the Walmart Boss... there was a clear warning on it NOT for human consumption... and fine print.

as I read to find back up for my assumption I find that the companies that were doing it have either quit or sold off their bird seed division. I would read those lables though...

I quit doing business with TSC they never had anything I wanted or needed any more. Now I only shop at the Co-op.
Black Oil Sunflower Seeds.... They eat them shell and all. My horse mumbles when she gets her seedsies.... She loves them so much she will go back and pick them out of her poo if one makes it through.....
Normal for horses... acutally good for them helps keep their gut healthy.... Same for chickens too actually.![]()
Both rely on gut flora and fauna for good digestion.
Thats why fermented feed is soo good.

Quote: I'm glad you can find things you like there. I just buy my feed at the Co-op or pest control items.
Most anything else we shop at other places like Marvins or Lowes or Home Depot but we always compare prices before we purchase.
