The Old Folks Home

My idea today was to just lock her out of the coop. As long as she is eating and drinking, I feel a little better.
We had chicks hatching all night. I got up at 1:30 AM and 5:00 AM leg banding and moving chicks to the brooder.
I usually wake up before

Sorry I had a phone call and it messed up my post.
Continued: I usually wake up before Krista and open the coops and feed and freshen their waterers. I left Krista a note this morning because I wanted more sleep.
" Krista, we have to break the white polish from being broody. If u let them out before I wake up...Put her out of the coop and close the door."
Well I just went out and noticed that Krista did exactly as I asked. But she closed the feed up in the coop. Lol

I think the problem here might be the house gets warm, they leave and then freeze.

Not warm just above freezing... so they dont have to work so hard to keep the bee ball at 80-90... While digging for pix I did a little reading... happens that way.

Lol. I would have to have them shipped. I live in the backwoods. The name of my dirt road is "Private Road". I just googled distance to closest Trader Joes...The search took me to Southwest Airlines website. Lol. Thanks though.
I like that better than "Dead End Road"

Now they say "No Outlet".....

Ours is a "private road" because we are responsible for maintaining it. We dont have city or county maintainence. If it washes out..we fix it. I built some nice speed bumps infont of my house
My Mom lives on a road like that up in the Mountains. She was able to name the road and it has a road sign not--She named it Amber way, after the Nine Princes in Amber book series.

I also have a Rooster named Brand. He was one of the princes and his colors were correct for him, a Partridge Penedesenca.

I also had a rooster named Corwin--his colors are silver and gray.
