The Old Folks Home

Ours is a "private road" because we are responsible for maintaining it. We dont have city or county maintainence. If it washes out..we fix it. I built some nice speed bumps infont of my house

We're town owned... the town grades the road twice a year. There's only 7 houses on this road so it's a giant waste of time and likely money, but they keep at it. They even fixed my driveway washout and installed a culvert under my driveway a few falls ago.

As far as the bees spreading disease - my hives outside are only 24 inches or so apart - saves me from having to haul all my gear to multiple areas, so I can't imagine that's much better than sharing a house.

My Mom lives on a road like that up in the Mountains. She was able to name the road and it has a road sign not--She named it Amber way, after the Nine Princes in Amber book series.

I also have a Rooster named Brand. He was one of the princes and his colors were correct for him, a Partridge Penedesenca.

I also had a rooster named Corwin--his colors are silver and gray.

I have never read that. Who is the author?

Bama, the way I break a broody is put them in a cage, a nice sized one..like a rabbit cage. With water and food of course. For 2 days to see if she broke, if not..back for 2 more. The air beneath their body doesn't have a chance to warm up like when on a nest box. Works great for me.

Thanks.
I gave her a chick. She was mean to it.

Bama I bet you could even put one of those big, blue ice blocks(frozen first) under her covered by a towel.(crated) And she'd chirp "uncle' and be unbroodied just like that.

I like that better than "Dead End Road"

Now they say "No Outlet".....

Only the really big roads here are borough maintained.

Most side roads are privately maintained.
