The Old Folks Home

I'm not ready for hunting though I have started to consider it. Basically free food.

Ya, all sporting dogs need to be exercised sufficiently to be able to do their job. Or be civil at home. I have a large tract of land so my dog can run at home as needed. Mostly interested in showing at this point, as both parents are good; and playing ball. Some pointers play ball so we are trying with this one. ANd he was introduced at the breeders with many obstacles found on agility courses. So maybe some fun there too.

Maggie, the breeder, is the organizer of the Sunday events. And she bred most of the dogs that attend. SHe is a trainer too, and was the woman that helped me train my rotties what is now so many years ago.

In other words Rookie is in good hands, yours!!

Well the good news is I've been given permission to get more poultry.

The bad news: I've been approved for guinea fowl.

The worse news: Chris has one sided facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy for you medical folk) from severe (what we think is) Lyme's.

This summer can just go away now.

I am sorry to hear about Chris having lyme disease!

That is what the guinea hens are for? Australorps will eat ticks too.

My friend Georgeann in HS had that it. Went away on it's own but, I don't recall how long it took. It was really a shock to us because as teenagers - we thought we were invincible.

Hope Chris will be back to normal soon.

Guineas are supposed to be voracious tick eaters, also go after snakes and will MOB poisonous ones - like meerkats do. Don't think they do skunks but, they sure make a racket if anything looks out of the ordinary - like a loose goat eating Xmas decorations/wreaths. You should be well covered.

All I can say is, give you a break already! Will this get better? I know how dumb some questions can sound when a person hasn't been made aware of a certain illness, or birth defect..having had a child with a birth defect. Answered so many seemingly dumb questions, but they just didn't know...like me now. I hope he can get better.
