The Old Folks Home

My long-suffering animals got entered in the costume contest at the fair

This is Syd, as "Princess Twilight Sparkle" from "My Little Pony."

Syd and Blondie (as "Fluttershy)

Besty, as Spike, Twilight's dragon assistant.

This was the winning entry
In case you can't make it out, it's 3 kids in fake blood and bandages; one kid is holding a sign that reads, "pony and miniature horse for sale "great*" with kids" The pony, Ace, really got into his part; he was chewing on one kid or another almost the whole time.

At this place I used to board we had a halloween fun show every year.....

I used to dress my horse up for Halloween.... Best costume was a pair of my old blue jeans. split up the back and put on his front legs... Held up by suspenders... Then a Checkerd table cloth done as a shirt. And a straw hat... I rode him dressed as a farmer... He was my half Arab half Standard bred gelding... Marc.

and no never got pictures... this was in the eighties.

ACK when did it get to be November? I napped away the end of October. Not one trick or treater - it was cool and drizzly rain all day long

Ooh! Then all of the candy goes to Diva!!! ;)

Deb, what a hoot! Sounds like it would have made a great picture... There are some memories that
I have in my head that I really wish I could print out. Bummer

No I haven't had candy for Halloween for years - no one ever comes to the house at the end of a dark street (mine). My father and I used to eat up all the candy, waiting for kids that never came. He passed away several years ago, so I just stopped buying it.

Happy All Saints Day! I would have wished everyone a happy Halloween but I was terribly side tracked yesterday. Decided I really wanted a vehicle that could go off road to the places I want to get pictures but can't because we just didn't have the right kind of car. Went and test drove the Jeep Renegade and the Nissan Frontier. Both are very well rated for off roading. Decided on the Frontier mainly because it has more ground clearance. I am thrilled with my new truck.

This was before they took the rest of the protective shipping wrap off the vehicle. It had just arrived the day before at the dealership. I was the first (and only) person to test drive it. It is kind of hard to tell the color but it is a beautiful bronze/copper color. I drove a red one first just to see if I liked the Frontier and then the salesperson took me around back to see this one. It was love at first sight. I can't wait to try out the off road capabilities. SGC and I can now get into a lot more trouble!

Wisher that party tray looks good enough to eat! (pun intended)
We actually had about 15 kids show up to our house for candy this year. That is a bumper crop of trick or treaters for us.
