The Old Folks Home

I didn't suddenly get un-agoraphobic, it has been gradual accompanied by one or another SSRI till I got to Celexa, the only one that worked for me. But I also think I just got too old and didn't have the energy to fall apart as badly as I used to.

mom got good meds back some years ago. Before that the only meds they would offer for panic was Valium. When we moved from Las Vegas to San Diego she was on Valium. then she found a good Psychiatrist... he put her on imiprimine (sp) which works on her to keep her stable.... she was on it for forty years. they have just switched her to a new med.... and shes panic ing a little expecting to panic... Its supposed to be better.... so we will see.

She actually drove her car to get her hair done yesterday..... YAY.

crimeny... I feel for you Lady... With all the crap you have to deal with it's a wonder you're still sane, let alone still living. Hope you get the opportunity to take a chill pill here soon where you can "fall back" and re-group. You need a break!

I went to BevMo last night.... for a little libation. while I was leaving There were a couple of guys. making their way toward the register. They had a cute little Chiuaua in the basket.... I chatted them up. they looked like a couple one was fussing at the shopping cart driver.... He was a big guy thick and muscular... When we left the building he was still fussing at his friend. I laughed and asked him how long had they been married.

He grinned at me and said "I am the gay one....," he pointed at the shopping cart guy "Hes straight....." He was in a hurry because they were going to a movie at ten. Then we chatted while the shopping cart guy was checking out.

You know what happened... He gave me a big hug..... then several more... He had been through some stuff with his mom as well. I said How did you get through it.... He said Church.... and asked me if I believed in God.

I said I was agnostic but I dont always get along with church people.... He laughed... and said he was an athiest and told me it was all about love and forgiveness...

the whole trip to BevMo held a type of synchronisity for me... got something to dart me for the evening and a hug and life lesson to boot.

Its amazing how and where help comes when you need it. You just have to open your eyes a little.

LOL.... shes going to be 100 in July. born in 1916.... when she was born her oldest brother was already in the army for WWI... she didnt meet him till he came back from the war with a wife.

I got some stories about her life in me.... as well as dads and his mom and dad.

Her family is making noises that they want to come down for her birthday. Mostly her Sisters Daughters so Nieces? Her sister lived till she was 97... So grandmas nieces are in their seventies and eighties... we will see how many show up. There is even a grand nephew wanting to make the drive from Alabama for her birthday.... Hes 54.

In my Family we call them all Cousins--It is too hard to figure out all of the relations and who is relate to Whom in what way. It gives me a headache.

My Grandpa was an Identical twin in a family of 9 Siblings....Irish of course. My Dad's side of the Family is German Lutheran so that is like the protestant version of catholic but with more divorce and remarriage--Still 6 siblings and not into hugging.

Way too many relatives for me and some of them want to hug and kiss you--The Irish of course!

LOL - that is how I grew up too -- with lots of "cousins" -- took forever to try to sort it out later when I was old enough to really understand all the right titles people should have and who was who.....there's a few I'm still not sure about.

I'm not judging. I think it is great that you care so much for her that you have tried so hard to help her. That is all I meant.

I deleted the picture because it showed more of my fingers than should be on the internet.. duh moment for myself. Nothing that anyone said. Now that I'm home I can properly edit the photo down... and oh look, that kinda made it more gross. Sorry, y'all. I think latestarter is right, it is likely calcified around whatever got in there and caused this. That white area was all inside the pad of the foot. Only the top of the scab was visible on the outside of the pad.

At the Family reunions, there was always a married couple there. He was a Sheriff for Santa Clara County. When I was older, I asked how he was related and was told that he was not a blood relative. When the future Sheriff was a Teenager, he was kicked out of his house and my Great Grandmother took him in.

See, Irish Mothers are Amazing!
