The Old Folks Home

These girls believe in safety in numbers. No way am I going in there to break up broody alley. One broody is one thing. Five flapping birds with rooster just outside is quite the other. Only one has eggs that I know of. The rest may only have one a piece.

This is where some of the hens are laying. The egg in front can be reached if I stretch. The four in back takes a shovel.

Silly chickens!

I use on of these for hard to reach eggs:

It does not break the eggs!

Their ayam camanis are the laughing stock. They are terrible and terribly overpriced[/quote

Any guesses what this fine specimen is. American Bresse, from a breeder whom I trust. He's had the same problems with GFF. Pretty bird just not supposed to have brown in it. I was told it was from the sunshine after contacting them. Two other breeds with similar problems. Done with them.

Those are mixed with something lol.
What they Imported (twice) as Isbars were really not Swedish Isbars. @KYTinpusher is importing real swedish Isbars. What they imported was recently named Silverudd's Blue in Sweden.

Glad yours had a name. :lau

Except it's not what you bought. Hard telling what mine was mixed with but someone left a pen door open. That bird is completely removed from my bunch. Didn't lay well and was not long lived. Fortunately I didn't pay full price.

Is RED CELL actually okay for chickens.? I took a quick look and it contains iron. Every time Polyvisol infant drops are suggested for weak puppies we always say (NO IRON) forumula.

I use Red Cell for mine... the iron in it is water soluble iron... plus I only give it to adult birds, not chicks or juvies...

Dollar Tree has some grabber's for $ 1.00 of course. They cannot lift cans but they can grasp lighter objects. I haven't measured mine but, I think it adds about 2 ft. to my reach.

I also buy their backscratchers - they are curved at one end and great for manipulating golf balls-& also herding them through chain link when you are afraid your pudgy wrist will get stuck in the fencing. Okay, so I mean my wrist. I did once(at least) get my wrist stuck in the fencing and decided if any one came along, with my other hand I could throw my wallet over the fence (8 ft.high) and say I was trying to get my wallet back. I haven't decided how to explain a wallet flying over an 8 ft. fence.

Im prob just going to cull her. I have some growing out from @RavynFallen. I like their crests better anyway. My cock bird is from @Junibutt. He most likely carries a recessive white plumage gene.
Idk. Im seriously considering going with Lav Ams

You got some Legbars out of that hatch? Sweet!

I just sold mine off... :gig
