The Old Folks Home

Getting that time of yr, harvest time. While I culled 12 birds, many more to go...feed bill $$ skinned them so saved some time still took forever. . DW and kids pulled up taters, wow! Tons! Bet they threw aside 50 lbs though...some small some huge, what the heck eats taters in the ground? !! I have to google it, taters half gone...
Onions could have been much better, weeds were unreal this yr, onions don't like weeds, still had some nice one's, try harder next yr.

Just some of them, already have two paper bags full and many white one's in the ground still cause they're still growing. Dixondale Farms onion plants ROCK!
What about

Check out this bird! It's a type of turkey! Who needs peafowl with these things around!

Uh...some would say that peafowl and turkeys...that they are the SAME family...some would not...debateable.

Turkeys vs peafowl, the great debate

http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/turkeys-vs-peafowl-the-great-debate/

I say from SHARED behaviours, turkeys and peafowl ARE related...both like to strut...both are pretty beyond belief...both are super intelligent (the heritage kind of turkey sure is, eh) and yeh, but then a bird is a bird, eh. Gotta love birds...just gotta!

The name TURKEY may have been derived from the Hebrew word for peacock or big bird which is tukki. The Spanish called the new world's birds pavos, gallopavos or guajolotes which is Latin for...yeh, you guessed it...peafowl. Let the continued confusion incite chaos...
