The Old Folks Home

I was going to say we go to the extremes, well below zero winter to 90s up to 100* somedays in the summer (only get like two months of summer..)
Anyone ever check their historical monthly avg highs and lows? Wow! Interesting.
Record low -32 in 1994, same month 68 in 1950. Record high 101 in 1936 same month 33 in 1984.
August 1940 was 28, 98 in 1948.

its 80 right now and a cool dry breeze....

I get cold at about 40 enough to put a jacket on... before that I wear layers....

Coming in the back door... smell of fresh mown grass, Jasmine, and the sounds of doves Crows a Mocking bird and a bizillian eensy birds.... fly catchers... Sparrows.... and Swallows... Baby birds cheeping getting May Flies poked down their gullet.... its spring here. Will be gone in another month.

That feeder looks great! How do you keep rats or other rodents out of it?

Chipmunks and red squirrels are the one's I have to deal with.
I went to fermenting the feed, the thieves aren't as interested, but little birds still help themselves.
I saved a lot fermenting also cause their is no waste, they don't make a mess of it and eat less.

Quote: Sounds wonderful! I guess I need a pellet gun of some sort. We bought a bb gun but it don't do a thing! The 22 does not shoot straight. lol So when I need a gun I grab the 38.
I want to get another 410 and use some bird shot on all the squirrels. lol I'm so tired of them eating all my food!
I covered my strawberries and blueberry plants and my grape vine. Still need to figure out what to do for the small fruit trees.
I dug out a bunch of old cd's and I may hang them in the trees to see if helps.
