The Old Folks Home

You know a .22 has a ratshot round that works great.

I have found my Walther P22 to be a most useful weapon. I consistently choose it over the .410 for jobs like this.
Thanks Scg I did not know that. I will have to get some and try it. Thanks

We have both rats and mice...but mostly rats at the moment. When we cleaned the coop (garage) the one side of the floor is caving in where we step. I thought it looked like it was caving in from the outside when it thawed. Ugh.

I set all my traps as soon as it thawed but had to take them out of the cooponce I put chickies in the back. I caught a little oegb girl. She was not impressed. I haven't seen the rats back since their tunnels got crushed. I don't see anywhere as many rats this year so far. I think we made a dent with the dozens we caught. I plan to invoke a little pyromania and burn the excess grasses in the yard. That'll help with the rats and undesirables...less places to hide and proliferate. Burn it! Burn it ALL! (insert evil laugh)

We had a rat at the barn.... It got into some daily dewormer than one of the horses picked out of her feed and dumped on the ground... it drug it's hind end about 15 feet before it finally stopped moving... Dewormer isn't poison, it's a muscle relaxer on steroids, it makes the worms relax and lose their grip so they fall out of the intestines, so the rat just got weaker and weaker until finally he couldn't move and his heart or lungs gave out... probably not a pleasant death...
