I hoped my chickens pooped fire the yr they ate every single medusa pepper off our back step. Last Friday DD#2 took my jersey giant roo and a hen to a FFA fair at school. I made it very clear there would be hell to pay if they did not get put back in the coop when she got home. I have a nice bush of purple cayenne's right now by back step and am not taking any chances. Have never had any humans raid my produce though lol.

I was hoping that the Acid rain was better. We do not seem to have it here any more since there are not as may lumber mills and the ones that are here are required to use heavy duty scrubbers. One problem we have here though is stuff that blows over the ocean from China. Not Acid rain but other stuff has been detected in the coast range mountains. It is sad that a place so far away is that polluted

Chickens do not have the receptors to taste capsacin so they do not get hurt by eating them. Mine love to eat hot peppers! I hope you can keep the chickens away for this year crop.

That Fukushima disaster in Japan bothers me, must be even scarier on your side of the map. Last I heard they are not even sure if it's contained, six yrs later, don't know what's going on underneath. Might be burning a hole right out to the ocean. I think it was this summer I was listening to a discussion on AM radio, they haven't even been able to build a robot to get into the building to see the extent of the damage, circuitry gets fried even with shielding.
IMHO every country should have been pitching in on that one from day one.

Remember 'April' the giraffe that was a YouTube sensation this spring/summer with her never ending labor? Lol.
They had a trick or treat Halloween thing last Saturday so we went beings I have to work on Halloween night
Got a couple pics of the fam and baby, guess those things grow fast! No way were we going there after it was born, the place was a mad house of people from all over and not a very big place either.

Yep, Taj is pretty big now, and they have cleared April for another pregnancy and have the bull in with her, so there will likely be another baby before TOO long...

IMHO every country should have been pitching in on that one from day one.

Not only that but critters are now populating the west coast from debris that floated over. The material is stuff like fiberglass that does not decompose in the ocean for the 5 year trip. Some came in this summer with colonies of invasive species that survived the trip.

This is new since before these man made materials were used, natural things like trees would not make it here

My purple Cherokee tomatoes did ok. But next year I guess I'll do beefsteaks. Because I want more tomatoes. And I did not get enough for salsa this year with 5 plants.

I will be planting more tomatoes this year as well. Didn't even get enough eating tomatoes. Planted late and just had poor production.

Far too many people on the planet that don't care what is dumped into the environment.

I am getting excited about the garden. I have not grown things since getting chickens except in the front yard. I had tomatoes and strawberries this summer and have some black berries in the front side space. I need to work on getting those up on a trellis this year too!

Watch for places marking their seeds down. I am waiting on TSC to do better than 25% off they currently have.
