The Old Folks Home

I'm thinking too that dragging the dog probably builds up biceps. I was 87 lbs. when I graduated from school and 4"11. I eventually reached 5 ft.tall and 110 lbs.( from depressed eating when my best buddy (dog) died.

Skip ahead till I was pg with my son. Everyone told me low birth weight babies were at high risk, so as my OB-GYN said I was eating myself into a caesarian. I gained 40 lbs. and found out I liked eating (still do). After he was born, I had an extra 23 lbs. I was carrying around :(.

My scale died ages ago - it kept on saying I was 140 (wish I was) every time I got on, with tons of clothes on, with nothing. When I was holding full boxes to be mailed out
still 140.

I really need an accurate scale but need the "read out" up near my face - not near the floor (can't see over my stomach). I don't like the dr. type where they manipulate those metal things . I want plain numbers I can read.

Gaining 40 pounds on a pregnancy isn't all that bad. Saw some gain over 70 and then were devastated because they didn't loose it all after they had the baby. It was like....duh.

Hardware cloth had to be made by somebody who was into torture. I never come away with less than three punctures whenever I work with it. If I had to build a whole coop with the stuff I'd just leave the walls open and put out pointers for the predators to follow. This way to free chicken dinner......

I have a couple of inches on you, Penny. 5'2". Need to firm up. It's harder now that we aren't able to cycle as much as we used to. I really miss that fitness.

Cold frame looks great Cap.

SGC, just think of the extra exercise you are getting dragging that pup around on top of the walking.
I should firm up too!...But I baked a Swedish Apple pie today and am about to get ice cream. After that, I will not want to lift weights!

Dr. weighs you at appointments? I bet you know what it says

I won't get on the scales. I tell them I'll let them know when my clothes don't fit any more one way or another.

That is all they are looking for, is wild weight swings. They can look at you and tell if you are grossly over or under weight.
I should tell the dentist to not bother taking my blood pressure too! I wonder if he would refuse to clean my teeth if I did that....I have white coat high blood pressure and it freaks them out

THat exact one is what I was drawing up in my summer kitchen sketches.... Youve seen a floor sink right? I drew it up in a larger floor sink so that if I was using it to scald birds any splash over would just go down a drain... Then I could just strip the whole thing and clean it with a mop.

The whole sink area would be setup to Either do canning OR do processing in a good flow... There would be a pot filling faucet just for the canner area... then two separate faucets for the sink area... Step saving workspace...

That link, Williams Brewing in San Leandro CA, I've been buying supplies from them for many yrs, long enough that my first brewing setup I ordered through the mail from a catalog came with the a VHS tape instructions and was of the owner in his own home Lol. There is a few others online that might be better for some stuff, Midwest, and Northern Brewer, have ordered some stuff from them, used soda kegs Williams doesn't have used, malt is handier from the others they have it in plastic jugs, Williams is in heavy bags.
Williams has better prices though on most stuff, and great quality. I might not like the bags and nothing wrong as far as quality goes on the others, but I'll deal with a tiny bit of inconvenience rinsing out molasses in January thick malt out of a bag with boiling water if I'm saving $. And the shipping has always been cheap even all the way here, now it's $6.99 flat rate unless you buy something super heavy, all the way cross country.
Way back when I used to have to call them, great costumer service, have no complaints at all with them.
I'd like to get that burner, would be super handy. Right now my outside kitchen for scalding birds is the side burner of a BBQ grill. And my 'outside kitchen' for boiling malt, same thing but I drag it up inside the garage (DW does not like the smell of malt and hops boiling for a hour, or the mess it makes when I accidentally let it boil over Lol). Side burners on BBQ grills are not high output, so I have to for scalding water, or beer, I get the big pot of water boiling on our propane stove (fits on two burners on our inside stove) then carry it out praying I don't spill it, out to the BBQ side burner. Only part of the pot will fit on the side burner but It'll still keep it boiling mildly for malt, and I turn it off and on for scalding to keep right temp between birds.
