The Old Folks Home

Thanks. Any idea what can be used?
there are herbicides that kill only grass... Round up used properly will kill trees...

READ Lables carefully... But they will be feed through and in granular form. Last time I sold product like herbacies I was twenty one... about fourty two years ago.... I know products change... I am thinking it was a Scotts product or .... we used to sell it to weed grass out of Iceplant.

read lables on line and choose products whos manufacturers you know and trust.

Round up Tough brush & poison Ivy killer used to work wonders for me- although it took alot longer than the label said. I sprayed some buckthorn bushes and young trees one year. Looked like nothing happened. Next spring I saw they were all brown. I grabbed a branch and the entire plant broke off at ground level - had NO roots on it. Yippee!!!

It hasn't been available here for about 2 years now - which is funny because'off brands' have the same ingredient in bigger amounts. Other brands have not produced good results for me. Even though I know Scott's has taken over a few major brands.

I've never tried it but I heard corn meal will prevent weeds. Always planned on using it around my onions, it's what the place I get my plants (Dixondale Farms) recommends.

Question: I have a guava tree.. How can I keep the fruit from getting worms?:hmm
Not sure if it will work 100% but I use this on my fruit trees, fyi, good idea to use gloves and use something to apply it, super sticky and don't wash off.....
Wrap a little ways up the tree, don't take much if it's saplings in my case, apply the tanglefoot, it's like super duper fly sticky tape and lasts a LONG time. IDK? if it will help in your case but does here, my trees are in the open so nothing drops down on them.

Edit, lol, I see the pic I posted for the kit says it has a 'handy applicator' , I didn't buy the kit, just the tanglefoot tub and a roll of regular tree wrap. Stupid fool that sold me it said it would work for grafting apple trees... I was looking for grafting wax something my dad used many yrs ago. Knew it wasn't what I wanted but bought it anyway. Came in handy when I realized what it was.
I just grafted my branches following a vid on YouTube that cut v-notches and wrapped tight with strips of plastic, worked.
