Just so you know: Bone density is completed by approximately age 23. You will not really absorb calcium, and increase bone density after the age of 23. That being said, my mother's side of the family always had bone problems in their latter years. That was passed on to my cousins too.
My mother was a big fan of giving us a vitamin drops as babies, and a vitamin tablet every morning growing up. We also drank raw milk for many years too. She had no way of knowing back then about bone density being complete by age 23, but because of her insistence on us taking our vitamins, she did me a huge favor. My cousins have had shoulder, and spinal problems due to to lack of bone density, along with really bad arthritis. I'm beginning to show some depletion now, but so far it's not really too bad, especially considering the amount of chemo, I've had, and the inhibitors I've taken.
Now, I'm getting infusions of Zometa, every 5 months which is a more intense form of Reclast. This has stopped the bone metastasis, and helps keep the bone density from depleting as bad with the inhibitors I'm on.
For the record, I make buy vitamins for the grands, and my daughter is faithful about making sure they take them when they eat breakfast.

On Fosamax now. Dr. said we were lucky, we caught the osteoporosis early. Let's see, that's Osteroarthritis, Borderline RA, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. I keep wracking up new diagonosis.
Speaking of skinny. I've lost 21 pounds now. Told them they should start promoting methotrexate as a diet aid. Only 4 more pounds to go to reach my goal. Should have no problem there. No appetite.
