OK, LOL you have convinced me. WHere did you buy your girls-- or do you have boys too??

I got them from Al's Quackery. Unsure if she's still on BYC, I think her name was LearyCow... but she's on FB as Al's Quackery. I think she's near Saco. I ended up hatching 4 boys and 1 girl. I have 2 boys and 1 girl left from that original hatch, but one of the boys isn't a pekin. All of my ducklings and other grown ducks that I hatched from them have met the fox or had another ill fate.

Not too many generations ago there was a diagnosis of "Hysteria," a disorder ONLY attributed to women, diagnosed by men. Treatment cannot be described in this forum, but there is very little doubt the "symptoms" included normal function for a wide - and I mean VERYwide - spectrum of the female population.

With such misdiagnosis, it is not surprising women were having heart attacks totally unnoticed by the medical community, and thus under-reported.

Someone made a movie about this... called Hysteria starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. It was recommended to me on Netflix, so I watched it one night. I was surprised to say the least, but it was good enough to watch to the end.

While dealing with the hot flashes is not fun (especially since they wake me up a few times a night) dealing with the rest of it is not a problem. I do eat fairly healthy. I probably drink too much caffeine but you know what? I am not going on hormone therapy and I am not changing my diet. I have few "pleasures" in life and I am pretty happy with the way things are going. My BMI is around 20 -21, I eat a lot of fresh veggies and fruit and not a lot of fried food. I probably should get a full physical because it has been years because I would like to know where my cholesterol is. BTW, I eat grains all the time. Just sayin...

Heart? I've had two heart ablations. Didn't do the trick. Doc says, don't dare go in again, afraid it will just cause more problems than not. They said I had more irregularity going on than they had ever seen. Nice.
What will happen with my heart acting up all the time? It will wear down faster. I feel it go crazy every day..some days worse than others, and yes, stress will do it. Am I working right now? No. Kids! I still worry over my my children..especially my son with Spina Bifida..going through more things again.
The first time I new my heart was irregular, I was in my 20's. I was shooting..had some ear plugs in my ears and I could hear it going crazy. I thought, what in the world is going on with my heart. Ignored it for about 8 years. Didn't bother me until later. Was I working a job at the time? No. Runs in the family. Mine just got worse fast.

So far, I've not had the hot flashes. But hubby has ended up with them. Poor man.

I get "cold flashes".....but only during PMS and etc. Never the rest of the month.

Hot flashes..I'm too old for them I guess. I turn 60 today. I'm past that, thank goodness.

Now, I'm wondering why my avatar has changed, why did it change? I did delete one of the two photos I had the same.. one being, the avatar that I had. Guess I'll go and fix that. See..don't need more than one thing happening at an older age, hot flashes...forgetfulness..what did I do now? Oh dear!
