The Old Folks Home

bruce, that'll teach you to keep the cat's dish filled with fresh water.
NOT MY JOB! The DD's are responsible for the water dish in the upstairs bathroom. I do the one in the laundry room. We used to have a litter box in the upstairs bathroom as well but they never cleaned it. Both ignored it expecting the other to cave first. So now we have 2 in the laundry room and two on the enclosed porch.

Our cats have learned to "knock" (actually paw rapidly) on the window when they are on the enclosed porch and want to come back in. Took the oldest cat a long time to figure this out. She would sit outside and meow her nearly silent meow hoping someone would notice.

So tonight I went ahead & broke down and made:
Yum!

After their death we sold the house. The new owners are paying $29,000. Ouch!
Must have been a really nice addition to the retirement fund for you and other beneficiaries!

OK, so to change the subject once again...
My 5 pullets have reached POL and I'm getting 4-5 eggs a day. I don't eat them like I used to and they're already starting to "back up" and fill 18ct cartons. So tonight I went ahead & broke down and made:

Since the eggs are small, I added extras and bumped up the other ingredients a bit as well. Made a decent edge crust and down the sides, but didn't "toast/brown" underneath like (I think) it should have. Guessing because of the changes I need to either increase temp a bit or cook longer or both. Has an "egg" taste, not too sweet, a little "oily" from the butter in the mix as well as coating the pie dish. Tasty.

Wow thank you just changed todays plans

Be easier for her too if she hadn't been woken up 3 hours early (8:30 AM for her, went to bed at 11) when DW's cat fell in the toilet.
That just cracked me up!

We have a cat that does that. If he's on the porch and sees someone inside, they hear "squeakysqueakysqueakysqueaky" until they let him in!
My cat just sits on the deck rail looking pathetic, hoping someone will look out the window and see him. The one I had before this one would climb the screen.

Exciting day today, yepper :gig
Took advantage of the above (barely) freezing temperature to put the new registration sticker on my car's license plate.

Get to stay up to the witching hour to go with DD1 to pick up her BF at the airport. Would be easier if I hadn't gone to bed at 11 last night but woke up to pee and put wood in the stove at 3 but didn't fall back asleep until just after 6 and then for only 40 minutes. Be easier for her too if she hadn't been woken up 3 hours early (8:30 AM for her, went to bed at 11) when DW's cat fell in the toilet. That bathroom is right next to DD's bedroom. Apparently the water dish up there was empty and the cat decided to pretend it was a dog instead of going downstairs to the water dish in the laundry room.
I've caught ours licking the faucet in the kitchen :sick

I had one cat that was part Siamese
I miss her.
She's been dead 3 years and I still haven't found her favorite mouse. She hid it somewhere. Guessing it made it further down a drain but I'm hopeful one day when I need a smile I'll find it shoved somewhere totally bizarre.

Anyone have fun weekend plans? Finally hunting seasons are over here. The destructive drooly thing and I have plans for a multiple mile journey today on the trails and I hope to get the treadle quilt top done.

Pets like your cat give so much joy to our lives!
I hope you and Ripley had a fun walk..
Nothing too much going on here...Christmas decorating and wrapping...and house cleaning
