The Old Folks Home

Not sure what your talking about @JD4570 , but we have a pretty disgusting one here. Tractor trailer driver saw it go down and picked them up, some scum bag tossed a couple beagles out their window driving down the road.
One is fine, other had to have a leg amputated. Both dogs from vids I've seen look like nice dogs who have had a good life, don't look like they have came from a abusive situation .
Been days though and no calls or info. They're investigating, hope they find the scumbag. All they have is a vague description of the vehicle from the truck driver. He also had a truck cam but too far away to get good vid.

Oh my lord Beer how horrible to happen but not unknown use to have them dropped at our farm years ago tossed out in burlap sack of just tossed

Peep-Show, I was listening to a radio show that was talking about how the tax situation made it very difficult to sell a home there. It makes the real estate market really crazy.

Luckily, the house -- with all its deferred maintenance -- is in a very desirable small town in the Oakland foothills known for its schools and education system....and the folks that bought it were well-off (Pixar folks) and in love with the house. They paid a fair price as-is and sunk A LOT of money into renovations. They graciously gave me a tour afterwards and not one room hadn't had the plumbing or walls rearranged. They added an additional bedroom upstairs and relocated the basement stairs, powder room, utilities, laundry facilities, kitchen, dining room and master bathroom. What was once quite Georgian Federal was now modern Mediterranean in style and flavor. Very strange to go into a familiar place and have it not be. The floorplan was not what it used to be. It's a great place, however, and I'm sure they'll have many happy lifetimes therein.

Sitting here catching up while finishing a double portion (last "2" slices) of egg custard pie right from the pie dish. :drool I'm trying to be kind to the environment and not dirty any additional dishes that will need to be washed, wasting water, time, soap, etc. Have pasture work to do but it's so wet, there's no way I can do anything. Supposed to be partly cloudy and ~60°f +/- 2-3° over the next 3 days before more rain moves in. Hopefully it will have dried out enough by tomorrow after lunch that I can get back to work.

So how bout them Cleveland Browns last night? Huh? :clap Beat Denver, in Denver! :thumbsup Important game for me this afternoon as the Pats take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Don't know if it's televised here where I can watch it. If not, guess I can watch NFL Gameday and they'll report as things happen with all the games.

Hope y'all have a pleasant Sunday. :)

Whow! 2,000 dollars for taxes. Gave me an Illinois flash back shudder on that one. We pay taxes here in MO in December. Like a big ole fat Christmas gift from the county, LOL. Our taxes here are less than half of what they were in IL where we had 3/4s an acre. Here we have officially 30 acres, property taxes a quarter of what they were in IL but we have to pay personal property taxes on vehicles, recreational vehicles and livestock.

The solution to that is drive older cars and raise chickens. LOL! I think they charged us 34 cents on the 58 chickens I declared this year.

Gawd I love Missouri!
They tax livestock? What next?
