The Old Folks Home

never knew you could plant tulips so late but our weather is way different than yours.

8.1F above 0 but, we'll be getting worse temps as the days go on.
The bulbs have been out in the workshop, so they have had the cold weather they need. I just need to plant the rest of the bulbs.

Had a bad time yesterday - my heart palpitations came back. Haven't had that bother me since mid 90's. Had it a lot then. Dr. was listening with stethoscope . I said "You must be hearing that." He shook his head. I had a test for it I think called EEG, neg. and some other kind - neg.

It's all in the mind - guess related to anxiety . Mind is a powerful thing. Sometimes breathing into a paper bag helps but, I was in bed and no paper bags around. Took some slow deep breaths and let it out slowly till things calmed down. Just surprised how long I have gone without it and now it's back.
Sometimes your test is done when your heart is not acting up.

So far one turken, 2 mutts, 3 ayam cemani and a quilt.
I have 2 incubators going. So far all the hatches were in the crappier auxiliary incubator which was apparently running warmer than the good incubator. The other incubator is starting to have pips.

Beautiful as always. I still have not found the cord to my Bernina!

Congratulations scg both on the chicks and the quilt. That quilt should definitely redeem you, and then some.

I have to share something. The grand baby (3) dragged her chair from the kids table, to the incubator, and when anyone would go look in it, she looked too. When the first chick popped out, she sang the Happy Birthday song to it. She sang Happy Birthday to each one that hatched. She talks, and sings to them a lot. They don't seem very skittery when she's around them.

Anyone wanting Black Australorp hatching eggs, the one on eBay for $10.00 a dozen, is good. 10 out of a dozen shipped eggs is pretty good. The chicks appear to be good and healthy.

Grandbaby is teaching the chicks the ABC song now. They're all just looking up at her, quietly listening.. It's hilarious.

We did have a chat about her not sharing her pop tarts with the chicks. Now that she knows they eat a special food, and her food can hurt them, she promised not to put anymore of her food in there for them. I've raised chicks before, and it's always fun, but throwing her into the mix is making it extra fun.
