The Old Folks Home

So far one turken, 2 mutts, 3 ayam cemani and a quilt.
I have 2 incubators going. So far all the hatches were in the crappier auxiliary incubator which was apparently running warmer than the good incubator. The other incubator is starting to have pips.

Had a bad time yesterday - my heart palpitations came back. Haven't had that bother me since mid 90's. Had it a lot then. Dr. was listening with stethoscope . I said "You must be hearing that." He shook his head. I had a test for it I think called EEG, neg. and some other kind - neg.

It's all in the mind - guess related to anxiety . Mind is a powerful thing. Sometimes breathing into a paper bag helps but, I was in bed and no paper bags around. Took some slow deep breaths and let it out slowly till things calmed down. Just surprised how long I have gone without it and now it's back.

Sounds nasty. :hugs

I checked on the last 2 eggs, and they were duds, so I tossed them. Total count is 10 chicks.

Nice number if chicks!

Can you tell at all if what you have is any good? So...feet all the correct colors? Combs all single? Etc.

I've got 23 AC's and 3 eggs from my flock in the incubators. Woke up this morning to 2 chicks, both from my flock. And neither were naked necked.

Come on, ACs.

So far one turken, 2 mutts, 3 ayam cemani and a quilt.

Now tell me that the quilt popped out of one of the eggs! :lau

:fl hope you get lots more!

Any chance that any chicks will look like your Miss Piggy? (I know she doesn't lay...but I can't remember what else is in your flock)

My flock is pretty much everything. I like variety. Piggy is a showgirl and while I have a showgirl rooster none of these birds have the melanin or extra toes so he is likely not the father (said in my best Maury voice).
I wish I hatched that quilt. Before I went to Bigfoot my sister asked me to be a pattern tester for her. The backstory is a number of years ago she really wanted to do this sister block exchange quilt with me but I was too busy. She was really bent about it. Anyway I knew i had to say yes to redeem myself. Well the pattern wasn't really ready to test so I worked out the kinks and typed it up for her while I made it. She wanted it "done by February" so she could get it on her website but she didn't tell me what to buy for background until 30 January so I've been staying up late and spending all weekends sewing it.
She gave me the block fabrics and told me to get Stark white for the background. Totally her. I would have made the background the dark blue with glow in the dark stars, bright yellow star blocks and I would have quilted it with glow in the dark thread.

As I said, they put the line on his property. They were not suppose to. Yes, in the city they have easements and HOAs. Out here in the country, it's different.

The chicks are colored correctly. I have serious doubts as to their quality. The chicks are quite a bit smaller than when I hatch my eggs. I can keep the females for eggs, and butcher the males. They'll taste good. I just won't breed any of the females. For regular Black Australorps, they're good.

Love the quilt as usual ended up doing BF's quilt all one color fabric I bought to use was impossible to fit to it

I was just a pot holder maker. I once made a 6 ft. potholder scarf for a boy friend. I was trying to make one like " Doctor Who's long, long scarf. Except pot holder material is very, very heavy.

BF was not as pleased as I thought he would be. Later told me he "accidentally," ran the scarf over with his van.

Kinda like he wanted an Alexandrite ring for Christmas. We went downtown (Chicago)
HE PICKED one out. We had to come back in a couple of weeks - because it had to be sized. First time he wore it - he "accidentally" left it in the men's room and it disappeared. Seeing a pattern here, I never bought him anything else.
