My DW had me drive her Esparto-- about 17 miles from my place-- so that she could take care of some chores for the Pastors of the Church there. three years ago I sold them 4 hens of mine. Three of them were killed in a dog attack last Fall. At the last chick days in the Fall, we bought 6 Black Stars and raised them up to 6 weeks old for them.

When we got to the place today, I was shocked to see that the Pastor and his wife left on thursday and left the door to the run and the coops open. Of the 7, 5 were Dead and one was suffering with a completely scraped off back. She was one of my Pita Pintas that survived the dog attack from last fall. The 7th was alive with a small wound on the neck. I euthanized the one that was nearly dead and the survivor is getting the wound treated.

I would have expected them to have learned from the last attack. It was quite sad and I am not going to help them with getting more hens! There were two little dogs on the property that we had to run off. All indications are that it was a dog attack.

I used to have issues with the neighbor Kid. Getting ready to go and Id find her sitting in the coop with a chicken on her lap.... Cage door wide open. I put a padlock on the door and that fixed that.

We have agreed to not help them with any more chickens. DW made it back from riding her bike back from there. I did have to pick her up about three miles from home though.

Jes... Teasin..... But I couldnt do it.... just like icing.... Or the cake once baked had an un square portion... That needs straightening....

Baked goods and Chicklettes test my will power to the Nth power. If I know I am not going to get em I dont go look at em... But Dang.... One day I heard Turkey poults in there Me want me want kept running through my head.

But I didnt get any .... whew.

I did for sure! I was very upset and really do not want to have anything to do with them.

I have a few more to go, but I'm getting tired, so it will wait til tomorrow. I had to thin all the flow icing, and re-bag it. I need to get a smaller sized cookie cutters. When the cookies are so big, there is a tendency to shift, so lines don't come out straight. A tip is to get the edible markers (food coloring markers) and draw the line, then cover the line with the icing. That helps keep the lines straight. Same thing when needing a good circle. I learned a lot about icing consistency. In a couple days, I'll do it all over again. I will learn to do this. OH, when I took the class, she said she never uses a smaller tip than a #3. I will use smaller tips for detail work next time.
